Blizzard Lets Players Keep Diablo 4 Tempering Recipes that Carried Over to Seasonal Characters

A bug that benefits players is not going to be corrected

Some in-game bugs are worth fixing, but Blizzard has decided to let the tempering recipe mistake ride out all of Diablo 4 Season 5.

Getting ahead in a new season of Diablo 4 can be a daunting task, but at least everyone starts on a fresh new page. This season, a bit of an error on Blizzard's part may have given some players the upper hand, as all tempering recipes from the previous season were still available on their new seasonal characters. While seasonal characters are supposed to start on a fresh slate from zero every time, it seems that this time the devs decided to let this mishap slide.

In response to the reports of the mistake, Blizzard states

“We are aware of the reports that new seasonal characters are having their tempering recipes carried over from their last seasons seasonal character. This isn’t the original design or intention so I wouldn’t expect this for future seasons but we are letting this one slide for Season 5.”

That means that next season, don’t expect to be rewarded once again with prior recipes, as this is a one-time deal due to their error. Diablo 4 Season 5 is all about hordes of demons from the depths of hell, testing both our skills and patience with the new roguelike bullet-hell mode. There are also new Hellbreach Dungeons, over 50 new blazing Uniques and Legendary items to collect, and a few outfits and cosmetics that scream “Demon time.”

Steam numbers surged after the launch of the new season, which tends to happen every season, but nonetheless, there will be plenty of content to hold us over until the Vessel of Hatred is released.
