Blizzard experienced several DDOS – distributed denial of service – attacks earlier today for World of Warcraft. Fortunately, these looked to have been cleared up.
Blizzard acknowledged this attack on Warcraft earlier yesterday Tweeting,
“[#Warcraft] We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We are actively working to mitigate this issue.”
Later, the attacks appear to have subsided. Blizzard issued another update on the matter,
“[#Warcraft] The DDOS attacks that we were monitoring have ended. If you are still unable to log in try https://blizz.ly/2CdlmXL”
In related news, World of Warcraft’s Reliquary of Opulence has been unlocked as announced on Twitter.
“The Reliquary of Opulence is unlocked, but the Council isn’t fond of unexpected guests. Use this thread to ensure you leave the Royal Quarters in one piece.”
Blizzard also shared several additional details regarding the Royal Quarters. If you missed it, here are the other events planned this week.
