In the continuing saga of one of the most viral stories in gaming, Blizzard Entertainment has responded to a rumor that Diablo 4 was intended to be announced at BlizzCon 2018 last weekend in addition to the as-yet poorly received Diablo Immortal mobile game. In and of itself, this is highly unusual as Blizzard generally ignores rumors. However, after a Kotaku story citing the rumor exploded all over the internet, the company felt it needed to respond.

"First off, we want to mention that we definitely hear our community. We generally don't comment on rumors or speculation, but we can say that we didn't pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements. We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right." the statement reads.

In other news, Sarah Needleman from the Wall Street Journal wrote that Activision Blizzard stocks tumbled about 7% in Monday trading.  Last Friday, stocks were valued at $68.99 and fell to $64.34 at the end of trading on Monday afternoon.

Investment company Cowen & Co. wrote to investors, "Blizzard severely miscalculated how their fans would respond, which suggests they aren't in touch with their players as maybe they should be."
