Blizzard's upcoming Burning Crusade expansion for WoW Classic will be here on June 1st, though that hasn't stopped the company from taking in feedback about the packages and costs surrounding the upcoming launch. One such area has been the cost of cloning your character on both Classic and Burning Crusade servers. Blizzard today announced they would be lowering the cost of the cloning service, thanking players for their feedback and passion.

In a post on the World of Warcraft Classic forums, community manager Kaivax announced the change in pricing, lowering the cost of cloning your character to use on both WoW Classic's vanilla servers as well as the upcoming Burning Crusade Classic servers from $35 down to $15.

"This service – providing a player with a second copy of a character in a different game – is new for us. Our original concept of the value of this service was largely based on how we price other optional items and services. We want players who choose Classic Era realms to feel as though their choice comes with the possibility that they’ll be able to build relationships and guilds with other players they can count on."

Kaivax cites player feedback as a reason for the change. And it makes sense. In the wake of the announcement of the pricing, a large and vocal segment World of Warcraft players sounded their displeasure across fan sites, Reddit and so on, slamming the $35 price tag. Kaivax lists this as a major reason for lowering the cost of the service.

"However, over the last week or so, we've gotten a very large amount of feedback from the community, and we've decided to lower the price," Kaivax states in the forum post. The community manager continued stating that the lower price will still allow Blizzard to "accomplish [their] goals" while making the service an option for more players where the $35 price tag might have priced them out.

Blizzard closed the forum post expressing their thanks to the community for their "passion and thoughtfulness."

"As always, we deeply appreciate the passion and thoughtfulness of the WoW community. We play WoW alongside you, and we can’t wait to join you next week on Classic Era realms, in the Burning Crusade Classic pre-patch, and as we step through the Dark Portal with you in June."

World of Warcraft The Burning Crusade Classic will launch on June 1st, with pre-patch beginning on May 18th.
