Blade & Soul NEO, a modernized and remastered version of NCSoft’s classic MMORPG is here, launching today on PC in North and South America and Europe.
To get started, you can access the game on NC America's PURPLE platform. Those who pre-registered were able to start creating their characters recently, but everyone can jump in now that the game has officially released. To celebrate the launch, NC America is offering their pre-registration gift package to everyone through March 25th. They're also kicking off a login reward campaign through that date.
The character creator has expanded options in Blade & Soul NEO. Then you can choose from four races inspired by animal lore, and then pick one of seven classes. Your adventure begins in the Hongmoon Clan, and following their destruction, your own adventures and desire to restore your clan’s honor, truly begins.
The experience is intended to feel familiar for the longtime Blade & Soul players while also offering a modern feeling take on a classic. You get to relive the original storyline in a modern game with improved graphics and new options. The graphics and animation have been remastered, and the skill system is updated. there's still an emphasis on action-based combat, and fluid martial arts. The team released a 20-minute gameplay showcase to demonstrate.
Now that the game has officially launched, in addition to those login gifts, you can rank up with the free or optional premium Battle Pass to earn additional rewards. The premium battle pass will cost 1,500 Divine Gems/$15 and offers some exclusive consumables and “quality of life benefits”, according to the launch press release.
Starting in March, we can expect the first big new content update to roll out and NC America promises several months of content updates to follow.
