Black Desert's Land Of The Morning Light Is Helping To Promote Korea Tourism

Pearl Abyss and the Korea Tourism Corporation are teaming up to promote tourism in Korea using Black Desert Online's upcoming Land of the Morning Light expansion as the backdrop.

A new video posted to the Imagine Your Korea YouTube channel highlights both Korea and the locations in the upcoming Black Desert expansion which are heavily inspired by the country.  The video itself is described as a "musical journey to beautiful Korea," with folk singer So-hee Song singing over images of Korean tourist destinations and in-game footage of The Land of the Morning Light.

It makes sense that the two would team up to promote visiting the country considering Black Desert is a major, recognizable export of Korea globally. With the upcoming content update being so heavily inspired by both Korean folklore and mythos as well as Korea's natural beauty, it's a fitting match.

Black Desert's Land of the Morning Light is already out in Korea, though no release date has been finalized for the global release just yet. First unveiled back in December at Pearl Abyss' Calpheon Ball in Los Angeles, the new content is a marked departure from the more European Medieval-centric design language of the MMO, instead focusing more on content closer to home for the Korean developers. It's a risk for sure, especially as localization could be hindered by ideas and cultural concepts that just have no English counterpart.

However, the update looks to meaningfully add to the MMO, allowing players to explore the homeland of the recently added Woosa and Maegu Twin classes, as well as new boss encounters and more.
