Black Desert and Black Desert Mobile players have helped Pearl Abyss raise around $70K USD for Doctors Without Borders, the sixth year Pearl Abyss has partnered with its players to help raise funds for the charity.
The donation of 100 Korean Won (approximately $70K USD) was made on behalf of the players and Pearl Abyss to Doctors Without Borders, helping the charity further its work of helping those in need, wherever they may be. According to Pearl Abyss, this donation will directly help provide "urgent medical aid in Nigeria," as well as giving kids home treatment kits, and "establishing cholera treatment centers, supplying therapeutic food to combat malnutrition, and provide health care in conflict zones."
Players were able to help raise funds by participating in certain quests, as well as purchasing donation-centric items in the in-game store.
As a thank you to adventurers, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) shared a heartfelt thank you to players for helping to raise the funds in a video on the Pearl Abyss channel.
"Thanks to the support of Pearl Abyss and the adventurers of Black Desert, MSF has saved lives in areas across the world where humanitarian aid is desperately needed," Emma Campbell, Executive Director of MSF Korea, stated in a press release. "With the generous contributions we have received, we will continue our conjoined efforts to save patients in 2025 and beyond.”
