Black Desert's Ulukita update has gone live, bringing a new main quest addition, monster zone, and more to the long-running MMORPG. To accompany today's update, the team at Pearl Abyss has dropped a new overview video to get players up to speed on what to expect when stepping into Ulukita.
The new Black Desert Online content brings new items, such as Ator's Shoes (one kitted for evasion, the other for damage reduction), as well as Kabua's Artifact which gives more AP when defeating monsters, additional health and other benefits. The items themselves can drop from enemies or be crafted, with the overview video explaining the steps to make your own for your preferred adventurer.
Ulukita also brings more main story to the table for players, picking up a story seven years in the making with the Mediahn prince. The story reunites players with some familiar faces, including the Last Prince of Mediah, Bareeds III, the captain of the Shroud Knights Sarma Anin, and more.
Ulukita also brings a new monster zone to Black Desert Online, Darkseeker's Retreat. This new monster zone is for players with a minimum recommended AP of 310 and brings two new event mechanics to the fold: the Eternal Darkseeker and the Sealed Artifact.
The former has a chance to spawn after simply dispatching the monsters in the zone. According to the patch notes, a large amount of "Followers will start to spawn and attack you after killing the Eternal Darkseeker." The latter event occurs after "defeating the different Darkseekers," giving a chance to spawn the Blazing Embers, which in turn will activate the Sealed Artifact once that is dispatched. The artifact disorientes enemies in the zone, though those Followers are unaffected by its power.
