Black Desert Online’s Land of the Morning Light Seoul has been out for several days, and Pearl abyss continues to offer new looks at some of the big expansion content, including new videos on new co-op Black Shrine bosses you’ll find in Seoul, a look at the new region Donghae, and a look at Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Last week when the expansion content was released, the developers released a schedule of content highlights they were planning to release. Now, Pearl Abyss has released most of them, and, there’s plenty to enjoy, depending on what interests you most about the content. The original Land of the Morning Light expansion features a mix of historically-inspired, Joseon-era elements and those based on Korean myths and legends. Many of the bosses were inspired directly by well-known folktales. The same holds for Land of the Morning Light Seoul.
The new boss video offers a taste of new Black Shrine boss encounters. As you play through the content, you will learn more about these legends and how they play into the expansion content. These co-op bosses are ready for parties of five to take them on. Land of the Morning Light expansion updates commit hard to featuring both beautifully crafted landscapes and being love letters to Korea and offering up new adventures, challenges, and sometimes chilling supernatural experiences.
Today’s video from Pearl Abyss goes in a completely different direction, this time showing how they immortalized and adapted the real Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. Pearl Abyss is, once again, working with real organizations like the Korea Heritage Service, to access and draw from these real places for their fantasy MMORPG that also celebrates Korean traditions.
This comes after Black Desert Online, with particular emphasis on Land of the Morning Light, was featured in a Korean cultural exhibition in Paris during the recent Olympic Games. With the expansion content live in game, the rest of the videos Pearl Abyss has set to release are all culturally focused, including two highlighting music.
