Pearl Abyss has shared a brand new behind the scenes developer commentary on the Black Desert Online's upcoming new Ulukita monster zone, quest, and the upcoming War of the Roses Conquest War.
The new developer commentary gives us a peek at what we can expect when the global update hits. There will be a new monster zone, Darkseeker’s Retreat, added to Ulukita, along with a special rare artifact to be found inside and new main questline to accompany the new zone.
This questline will take longtime fans back into the early days of Black Desert and concerns Prince Bareeds III of Mediah. Get ready for intrigue, tales of exile, a feud between Prince Breeds and Premier Neruda Shen. You’ll learn more as you complete the questline.
Also on the way is Ator’s Shoes, the final piece in Black Desert’s best gear set. You will have to head into Darkseeker’s Retreat and battle what awaits inside to collect the main component you will need to get the shoes. If you do get your hands on the shoes, you'll have a choice to make between damage reduction and evasion.
War of the Roses, the newest Conquest War between Kamasylvia and O’dyllita. This will be the largest scale faction versus faction war with reduced time to prepare for the battles ahead. It is designed to feel like a fast-paced pressure cooker. Your faction must defeat the opposite faction’s NPC Commander after storming their castle. If you do that and survive, you can claim victory and the Rose Crown. That's the simple way of putting it, but there will be challenges.
You may join as part of a leading guild in your particular faction or you can join individually in the Third Legion. Those leading guilds will have one Captain and three lieutenants. The Captain will have access to a tactical map overview and can issue commands. If you’re Third Legion, you can follow instructions, or you can act independently. Unlike the traditional Conquest Wars that are entirely guild-based, this is intended to be a little more unpredictable and tactical.
War of the Roses will be on a large scale, with goals set in Kamasylvia Castle and O’dyllita Castle. Since the battlefield will be very large, you'll also be able to use horses to move around, including any dream horses you might have acquired.
