May is going to be a busy month for Black Desert Online, as publisher Pearl Abyss celebrates 3000 days of service of its flagship MMO in North America and Europe.
Starting today, the 3000 days celebration brings six events (both in-game and community-focused events) for players to earn rewards, as well as hold unique events like its Memories or Playtime events. Alongside the festivities, Black Desert Online will be on sale for a whopping 99 cents (with new players netting a 1000% experience boost), making it easier than ever to hop into the world and take part. The sale will run on both the Black Desert Online website as well as on Steam, ending fully on May 22nd (Steam sale ends on the 21st).
Black Desert Online players will also see the Trials of Erethea challenge launch with the celebration, giving adventurers the chance to earn a rare item, the Deboreka Ring. This Ring completes the Deboreka set and gives a bonus to attack power, with the full set netting even more attack power to bring to bear.
Pearl Abyss also shared a new trailer, highlighting its PvP efforts, which starts this month with its revamped Node Wars. Also highlighted in the trailer (embedded below) is its highly popular War of the Roses PvP mode, which had a pre-season earlier this year. War of the Roses will kick off again sometime down the road, following the Node Wars revamp.
It's been a year of celebrations for Black Desert Online as the MMO celebrated 8 years in operation here in the West back in March. We spoke to some of the players who attended and shared their memories of the in-person event, as well as chatted with Pearl Abyss America CEO Jeonghee "JJ" Jin about the MMO. Next month, Pearl Abyss is celebrating the MMO again with its Heidel Ball in France, which will give a glimpse into what's next for Black Desert Online.
Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story said that both the revamped Node Wars and the War of the Roses update would be coming this month, based on our interpretation of the wording in the press release. However, a PR representative reached out to correct the story, stating that while the Node Wars PvP revamp is coming in May, War of the Roses will follow sometime after. We've updated this story with these corrections and apologize for the confusion!
