Black Desert Online gets a new update today, with new Black Shrine difficulties, rewards, player experience improvements, in-game events, and more.
With the recent introduction of the new class, Deadeye, now that everyone has had some time with her, there are some balance changes and adjustments. She has also now been added to the roster of Trial characters. A lot of changes to her kit are to fix issues, things like visual issues, or mistakenly leaving combat stance after using certain abilities. Other bugs like one where you didn't do any damage when you changed targets when using regular ammo, and we were accidentally targeting objects, those are taken care of in this patch.
The Black Shrine has three new Calamity (difficulty) levels for solo players who want to face Donghae. The arrival of these new difficulty levels comes with new stat requirements, and new rewards. Calamity levels 1 to 7 will continue as they already exist. The Blessing of the Morning buff, which affects the server when you defeat a Calamity 7 boss, will also happen from 8 through 10.
However, Levels 8 through 10 are not influenced by the Light Orb, which means it's all about the gear. Taking on level 8 and even 9 should be a doable challenge if you are experienced enough and you have a high enough gear score. As for level 10? “Calamity 10 in particular is designed to be challenging for Adventurers who possess both the necessary gear score and skills”.
As for the loot, there are full details in the patch notes, and if you take on these new difficulties, you can count on them to find traces of Voltarion.
The update also adds a series of player experience improvements, including adding a new option to expand Family inventory by 20 slots in the shop. Combat, skill XP exchange coupons and the Secret Scroll of Pure Equilibrium will no longer have restrictions and they can be used by new classes 30 days after they are released.
While Pearl Abyss postponed or canceled extra events, like the New Year’s fireworks on account of South Korea’s 7-Day official mourning period, there are in-game events happening, like Guild Boss Subjugation, and the ongoing event that lets you obtain the new Mythical Horse, Mythical Arduanatt.
