There’s some celebration happening over across the Black Desert franchise. Pearl Abyss has released a series of new stats, and announced plans and activities for anniversaries on PC, console, and mobile.
In new data released for the occasion of Black Desert Online’s eighth anniversary on PC, Pearl Abyss marks the milestone of 55 million registered players worldwide across all available platforms. They also announced that the series has made over 3 trillion Korean won / 2 billion euros since the original Korean launch back in 2014.
The team has already begun some of the anniversary celebrations on PC, and there will be a special anniversary livestream on March 3rd. Next week, both console and mobile players will get access to the Scholar class. The Scholar arrives with some tweaks after feedback from PC players, including faster combat speed and greater mobility. That update arrives on March 6th to mark the fifth anniversary on console and four years of cross-platform support between Xbox and PlayStation.
On March 2nd, Pearl Abyss is holding a fan event in Los Angeles with the team. March 3rd, there will be a special stream for everyone to mark the anniversary and to showcase Black Desert Online on PC and the large scale War of the Roses PvP mode.
In March, there will be a number of celebrations, and the team will also have some special offers and sales, including a deep discount on the base game and DLC for the month.
We also get some teases about what else is on the way in 2024. Last year, the Land of the Morning Light expansion content was released to acclaim. This year, we will get Land of the Morning Light: Seoul, Bringing new bosses, new storylines to play through, a new environment and they also teased a “new pipe–and sword–wielding male class”. Later this year, the 2024 Heidel Ball will be held in a medieval castle in the city that inspired Heidel, Beynac-et-Cazenac, France.
