On August 7th, Black Desert Console will finally see the Mountain of Eternal Winter expansion content. Expect new content, a brand new zone with the snowy mountain of the title, and much more.
Pearl Abyss is finally adding this region and its content to the Xbox and Playstation versions of the game next month. This expansion content went live in the PC more than 2 years ago, back in April of 2022, and its arrival has been long awaited by the console community.
The team announced the new expansion’s arrival at the end of a video showing off some of the upcoming content from next week’s patch. That patch will bring Badakka, the personalized summer outfit and new dance emotes. Yet, the tease from hot summer into sudden rampant snow was our surprise introduction.
So what’s in the Mountain of Eternal Winter content? The eponymous snowy region is, of course, a major highlight. We can also expect new quests, and other content including new monsters, bosses, new hunting ground, and rewards. One of the other additions in this content is likely to be the frostbite debuff, which adds strategic layers to the game since you have to worry about traversing this snowy and freezing region safely. This requires learning to create supplies using new local resources.
Expect more details from Pearl Abyss soon on the update, including if there are any changes or additions.
Editor's note: the original version of this article stated that the Drakania class was also launching with the Mountain of Eternal Winter expansion on console as well, much like it did for its PC launch, but this class has been in the console game since 2022. We've updated this story and apologize for the error.
