News broke over the weekend of a terrible tragedy at a Halloween celebration in South Korea. In a show of solidarity, South Korean developer Pearl Abyss has decidedly ended the Halloween events that were meant to run through early November.

Over 150 people have been killed in Seoul’s Itaewon neighborhood, as a large number of people gathered in the narrow alley, forcing many to get trapped for more than an hour, unable to escape, with little hope of rescue for those that needed it. According to South Korean police, more than 100,000 people had gathered in the popular Itaewon neighborhood Saturday night. South Korea’s President, Yoon Suk-yeol declared a national mourning period over the disastrous Halloween events.

South Korean Developer Peal Abyss has decided to end the Halloween events in Black Desert and offered their condolences to those affected by the tragedy.

As you may have already seen on the news, a catastrophic incident occurred in South Korea during the Halloween festivities on Saturday, resulting in the tragic loss of many lives.

In light of this terrible news, we will be ending the currently ongoing Halloween-related events and promotions during the scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, November 2.

We ask for your understanding, and we will provide more information in our maintenance notice.

Our sincere condolences to all affected by this tragedy.

-Pearl Abyss, Black Desert official notice

The removal of Halloween events will affect both Black Desert and Black Desert Mobile, and includes Halloween themed items in the Pearl Shop. Originally Halloween sales were planned through November 14th, but will now end on November 1st. This has also put a halt to all Halloween themed social media and video content that Pearl Abyss had originally planned.

We here at MMORPG.com provide our deepest condolences to those affected by this horrific tragedy.
