BitCraft’s second closed alpha begins July 8th. The test will feature updated content and will debut the empire system. Clockwork Labs has also introduced Supporter Badges, as a way to help fund development and gain access to playtests (including the new alpha) and more.
The Supporter Badge goes on sale tomorrow and not only will the $20 price gain you access to all future alpha tests, including the one starting next week, you'll get an equippable title, Founder, and 25,000 Hexite Shards (which are required for creating and doing more with empires in BitCraft) in each alpha test.
While the new badge is one way to guarantee access to the alpha test phases, you don’t need to buy anything to have a shot at participating, since the team will be selecting players for free invites too. “While BitCraft is free to play, we’ll also be giving supporters guaranteed access to all future Alpha tests so they can help test the game,” they shared on their Discord test announcement.
Previously, the team unveiled the empire system, which is cosmetic and optional in the free to play game, but it is an additional competitive option that you can try out if you have the shards to do so. While these will be a microtransaction when the game launches, your subjects and friends can choose to donate shards to your empire treasury to help keep things running. It goes along with the spirit of interdependence the devs have talked about. And of course, it’s a way to help monetize the game.
There’s a Supporter Badge page with more info on all of the perks. For anyone interested in buying, sales will go live tomorrow.
