The BitCraft team has published a new showcase, sharing a number of player built settlements made during Alpha 3.
The video is more than nine minutes long and shows off the depth of what is possible in the upcoming sandbox MMO. It gives a good idea of some of the choices, both aesthetically and mechanically, of what you might be able to look forward to building and visiting.
A while ago, the Clockwork Labs team decided to overhaul some of how settlements would work, to keep things in line with their goals of making BitCraft Players be less insular in how they play in the survival sandbox. They also wanted to make sure that settlements were an integral part of the progression journey. They made towns more public and introduced advanced settlements, again to reflect a part of the progression journey. To go along with this, they opened up the remainder of alpha 3 to everyone who wanted to try it.
They got a variety of players as a result, and the settlement showcase is showing off the work of those who invested their time in working with the systems. From peaceful settlements by the sea, to bustling markets, Farms, tomore remote locations with simpler structures, the video does show a good variety of different types of settlements. New Beginnings Market shows a marketplace built by the water with fish swimming around, some trees lending shade, and an interior market on the coastal region.
A settlement called The Mistake looks like anything but, with a lush location, platforms, waterfalls, and trees and more that make it seem a peaceful place. A place called Forager’s Rest looks like a hub for Traders and Crafters to get some things done. You can see more than a dozen different locations in the full video.
This video focused on settlements but they promise another one is coming soon that will focus on roads and neighborhoods connected by them.
