BioWare's New IP to be Delayed to Fiscal Year 2019

During today's EA earnings call, BioWare's Aaryn Flynn announced that the as-yet unnamed new IP will be delayed to Fiscal 2019. It was originally planned for release prior to March 2018 but the new live service is integral to the game and is also delayed.

“We’re very pleased with the progress of our new action IP from BioWare,” Wilson said today on the call. “The design is stunning. Gameplay mechanics are excellent, and the action will be exhilarating. The game is built around a live service, and through our creative process, we decided to add more to the disruptive new social design for our players. To accommodate that, we are moving the launch date for this project into fiscal year ’19.”

Blake Jorgensen, EA’s chief financial officer, hinted that the online component contributed to the delay. “We want to further develop the live service component,” he said.

According to scant information, the new IP, the first since Dragon Age: Origins, is moving along the same general lines as Bungie's Destiny.
