A developer Q&A in the BioWare Discord has provided some additional details on Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The discussion covered topics from ‘Rook the main character and character creation, to story, companions, gameplay features, and more. It was a fairly wide ranging discussion with some interesting answers.

Let’s go over a couple of highlights.

When it comes to character creation, BioWare’s confirmed that players will be able to choose their own pronouns and even when or even if to disclose their gender identity. It also sounds like the character creator will be fairly robust with plenty of options for hairstyles, tattoos, and even heterochromatic eyes.

It also looks like there will be many options for players to find a level of difficulty that best suits them. There will be five difficulty presets in Dragon Age: The Veilguard as well as the ability to create a custom preset, which allows players to fine tune various details like timing and damage. Whatever the difficulty selected, experience and progression will remain the same. There will also be a “whole mess of accessibility options” such as the ability to tweak the strength of auto-targeting.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will launch sometime in fall 2024.
