It’s been 10 years since Dragon Age: Inquisition and with the sequel just weeks away, EA and BioWare have announced that Dragon Age: The Veilguard has gone gold. This means the game is ready to be distributed to retailers.
Just like the real world timeline, The Veilguard takes place 10 years after the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Players will play as ‘Rook’ and will need to build a party of capable companions, aka the Veilguard, with the aim of preventing the resurrected Elven gods Ghilan’nain and Elgar’nan from destroying the Veil.

Besides the story, one of Veilguard’s major departures from the rest of the series is in its approach to combat. The game features much flashier action combat with combos and improved mobility. It also only allows players to control Rook, the player character. Companions’ abilities can be triggered from the ability wheel, but otherwise are controlled by the AI. The tactical camera is no longer available as an option in battle as well.
In our recent preview of the game we said Dragon Age: The Veilguard has Game of the Year written all over it.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard arrives on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on October 31.
