Bethesda is marking 25 years since the release of Fallout for the whole month of October. With the original came out in 1997, they're celebrating each week with new features, from sales to special new content across the franchise.
Fallout 76 is just about finishing up its free play week, and there's also a franchise sale running this month as well. Fallout 76 is also available through Amazon Prime Gaming as well this month. We recently chatted with the F76 team on The Pitt, the brand new expansion, and that’s also one of the titles being celebrated this month. There’s also an opportunity to test out Fallout 1st for free from tomorrow through October 17th as a limited preview. (Xbox Game Pass subscribers can get a month-long trial.)
Bethesda is also releasing new content for its mobile title, Fallout Shelter. This is the first new content for the game in four years. The update will be available tomorrow and features weapons, new gear, and all new quest involving aliens. Also a new celebration room theme and decoration options.
There is an all-new short retrospective video called Conceiving Fallout, where some of the devs that worked on the series discuss just how things came about and their process
When it comes to Fallout, it’s clear that the franchise continues to expand and succeed on various platforms and with thriving communities. To celebrate, there are also releases of Fallout music on Spotify, featuring a playlist of songs from throughout the franchise. The 25th anniversary playlist features a number of instrumental tracks from the series, including Fallout, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 76, Fallout 3, and Fallout 4, but also includes a number of vocal tracks that you might recognize from your days in the vault.
There’s more on now and more to come, as Bethesda will be offering new behind the scenes looks, new content, and new offers all month. Head over to the Fallout anniversary hub for more info.
