Bethesda Fixes Starfield Stability Issues, Plans Built-In Mod Support on All Platforms, and Other Features

Bethesda has issued a hotfix for Starfield and is taking the opportunity to respond to feedback from the community on features in the works, including wider mod support.

The hotfix addressed a few issues, mostly with a handful of major quest bugs and stability issues. Seems that Xbox players were experiencing instability when it came to installations and some overall crash and stability fixes needed. Three quests that were unable to be completed got fixed.

In addition to fixing some of those top issues, they are responding to some of the feedback that the community has been providing since launch. While the team will continue prioritizing any quest blocker bugs or stability issues, work will also happen to add a few requested features that have come up repeatedly in feedback. Among them are controls to tweak brightness and contrast, an HDR calibration menu, FOV slider, and Nvidia DLSS support on PC.

PC players with likely impressive setups have also requested support for 32.9 Ultrawide monitors to enhance their Starfield immersion. On the list of top requests is also a very practical option –an eat button for food.

We can expect these features to start rolling out in regular updates that will start coming in for Starfield. The team is also working with AMD, Intel, and Nvidia on driver and stability updates.

Bethesda has also taken the time to address the subject of modding. While mod support is unsurprisingly alive and well on PC,  they’re working on expanding Creations, their built-in mod support system to all supported Starfield platforms. You'll have to wait a while for this, since it's not expected until early 2024.

However, with Bethesda planning on supporting this release for years, a few months to get full mod support might not seem like too much in the long run.

“This is a game we’ll be supporting for years and years to come, so please keep all the feedback coming! Even if we don’t get to your requests immediately, we’d love to do it in the future, like city maps,” reads the update.
