After taking the crown for the best independent game of the year during the 2023 Game Awards, Sea of Stars has officially captured the hearts of 4 million players. Sabotage Studio made the announcement regarding the turn-based combat RPGs milestone just four short months after the game’s initial debut.
In a press release, studio co-founder and Sea of Stars game director Thierry Boulanger states:
“Sea of Stars is the game of my dreams, and seeing its quest resonate so strongly with players and critics means the world to everyone at Sabotage. The team behind this game is the most talented and dedicated group I could have ever hoped to create Sea of Stars with, and I'm again reminded of their brilliance as we progress with creating Sea of Stars' upcoming DLC, Throes of the Watchmaker.”
Sea of Stars is a pixel-graphic RPG with intense turn-based combat. The RPG has a few other interesting mechanics for players to enjoy, such as a fishing mini-game and captivating storyline to follow as they defeat increasingly difficult enemies.) . For those not willing to take the $35 leap, there is a demo available via Steam to test the waters and try their hand at Eclipse Magic. It’s also available as part of Xbox Game Pass on both Series S|X and PC.
Earlier this month, the developers released the entire Sea of Stars soundtrack onto streaming platforms for fans of the game to enjoy. For those interested in listening to the tracks, it's currently available on Apple Music, YouTube, and Spotify.
