Spearhead Games has launched its CRPG Unforetold: Witchstone into Early Access on PC via Steam. Head to the world of Kalsundia, engage in a non-linear narrative system with a sandbox style questing structure that lets you impact and influence those around you.
This system where integral to your journey is the ability to influence the people around you, was one of the highlights when the game was announced. The inhabitants of Kalsundia are designed to belong to a world. They own businesses, they live there, they have their own personalities and things they like or even hate. How you engage with them will matter, and so will your decisions along the way in your journey.
Whether you get to know people and gain their loyalty, manipulate them, or dominate, is up t you. Ultimately, the collective of all your decisions and how the people and the factions interact with each other and perceive you, will determine one the final fate of the world.
You can also recruit any NPCs that align with your own goals, but each person is a person, and there may be some who are unwilling to do things that go against their beliefs or morals.
Whether you’re a peacemaker, a conqueror, or somewhere in between, the game is designed with the idea that player choices matter. It is a phrase we’ve all heard a lot before, and Spearhead seems to understand that.
Customization is also an important part of Unforetold: Witchstone, as the character creation system and the turn-based combat system are all based on CRPGs and tabletop RPGs. Create your character's appearance, abilities, backstory, and more and engage in turn-based combat, on different paths, including stealth systems and other ways to use your influence.
