Rare dropped a trailer for Sea of Thieves Season 13 at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase.
In Sea of Thieves Season 13, the open world seafaring game will see the return of Captain Flameheart and allow players to take on the Captain to potentially seize his flagship for themselves as part of a new world event.
Players who successfully take control of Flameheart’s ship will be able to bring all of its fiery might to bear against their enemies, including its powerful cannons and crew of skeletons. The ship features ten cannons and a front facing fireball launcher. It sports four ladders and is large enough to fit 7 sails across its 3 masts.
Rare revealed a roadmap for Seasons 12 through 14 back in March, so looking ahead to Season 14 the update that follows will focus more on stealth and subterfuge. Players will be able to utilize a number of new stealth mechanics including, crouching hanging off of ships, and the ability to disguise themselves as a treasure chest.
A Grapple Gun will also be added that players can use to traverse the environment, board ships, and even harpoon loot.
Sea of Thieves Season 13 sets sail on July 25 for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation5, and PC.
