Get ready to head into the moshpit, as Jagex, Laced Records, and Regen Audio have brought classic Old School Runescape hits to vinyl and streaming services with a heavy metal spin.
The 10-track record titled Runescape: Battleaxes and Ballads went up for pre-order for a physical vinyl version and went live on streaming services today. Bringing tunes such as “Autumn Voyage”, “Scape Main”, and “Sea Shanty” to life in a rockin’ metal form, they do in fact rock pretty hard.
Several different accounts are posting the remixes to YouTube, but there is an official version from Jagex on Spotify with all 10 songs ready to go on their playlist. The vinyl copy is available for pre-order and costs $30 from the Laced Records official website. The record itself is a bright red color, while the cover showcases tiny pixelated versions of Runescape characters that OceanBytes created.
This isn’t the first Runescape product brought to life, as just a few months ago a Cookbook was released that features recipes from iconic in-game foods. For those wanting to do more in-game rather than the real world, the beach has opened once again, giving us a chance to gain new Skilling rewards and face off against one very angry crustacean.
