The Rift forums have been updated with the patch notes from today's update that includes the new Battle Pass Season 1 where players can "progress through 30 levels to claim rewards". Free players can take part in four daily missions and three random weekly missions to progress through the Battle Pass reward ranks. Patrons can participate in six daily missions and three random weekly missions to earn rewards.
Rewards for playing Battle Pass content include "a new artifact set, rune unsocketers, loyalty, credits, and an entire new set of fiery cosmetics".
There is also a brief note to let players know that developers will be watching high level PvP over the next several weeks in order to work on balance in the future. "As step one we will be primarily adjusting the pvp heal/damage/absorb multipliers to establish the pacing we’re looking for in pvp. In this update damage is being greatly increased while healing/absorbs will be moderately increased with the intent of reducing time to kill."
