Baldur's Gate Patch 2 Brings Several Changes to Cinematics, General Fixes

 Patch 2 for Baldur’s Gate 3 has hit steam, bringing improvements to cinematics and a host of fixes.

The team has been fixing cinematics including adding a missing cinematic. Another cinematic was “re-shot” and is framed differently. Larian also shared a bunch of stats. For example, the dog has been pet over 400,000 times. Gale has been romanced by 33% of players. Shadowheart was romanced by 31%.

The fixes contain story spoilers, so click the link above if you want to view the full patch. However, improvements brought by this patch include:

  • Optimized overall sound settings to improve performance on lower spec machines
  • Added polish to several in-game cinematics
  • Attack of Opportunity indicator is now correctly hidden for invisible enemies
  • Improved timing of some tutorial messages
  • Improved usability of skill selection in character creation
  • Added new tutorial messages related to combat
  • Listening to other players’ dialogs now correctly shows the other players’ dice rolls
  • The reason for a waypoint being unavailable is now displayed on the map
  • Party members now correctly cancel their spell prepare state when switching to another character
