Baldur’s Gate III got a new preview at Summer Game Fest, with developer Larian Studios unveiling a brand new antagonist, Lord Enver Gortash, who is voiced by actor Jason Isaacs.
"A politician raised by a devil. What could go wrong? Please welcome Jason Isaacs to the cast of Baldur's Gate 3 as Lord Enver Gortash. "
Today’s announcement follows the previous announcement from the studio that Baldur's Gate 3 will release on August 31st. That launch date reveal was accompanied by an introduction to the first of the game's antagonists, General Ketheric Thorm, voiced by J.K. Simmons. At the time, Larian stated that there would be three main antagonists featured in the game, with the other two to be revealed later.
Now we know of two of them, and as a reminder, in the preview that debuted today, we even get to see them together briefly. Hmm.
There is still one more big antagonist to be revealed. Judging by the caliber of the two voice actors already announced for the first two, we're going to expect another big announcement.
At the event, host Geoff Keighley also reiterated that Baldur’s Gate III is still on track to hit its August 31st launch. With this in mind, we can probably expect another big announcement fairly soon as to that third protagonist as the launch window gets closer.
