Baldur’s Gate 3  has gotten a strategic shift in release dates.  the PC version of the game will now release on August 3rd and the PlayStation 5 version will be out on September 6th. this is a change from the original August 31st release date for all platforms.

Not only is the team prepared to take more time getting 60 fps to work on PlayStation 5, but they are also moving clear out of the way of the release of Bethesda's Starfield. “This means the PC version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released at a time where you’ll have more time to play it,” Larian’s blog states.

Starfield is scheduled to release on September 6th, which is the new PlayStation 5 date for Baldur's Gate 3, but with pre-orders, Starfield players can begin accessing that game days earlier. Since Starfield is a PC and Xbox exclusive, moving Baldur's Gate 3 on PS5 to that same date makes sense. And if it means they don't have to cut corners or downscale the experience, that will work for the customer too.

Release updates for the Mac version and the Xbox version were limited but they are continuing to work on it and eventually promise updates.

The new devblog for Baldur's Gate 3 is not just to announce the new release date. They are also revealing new details, including that the new level cap will be 12. Plans to have the highest character level be 10 but changed their minds because “too many rad high-level spells would have been left just out of reach had we done so”. Look forward to accessing Planar Allies, Otto’s Irresistible Dance, and Chain Lightning.

Another big announcement confirmed that Dragonborn and Half-Orcs complete the full list of playable races at launch. Oh, and they've revealed the Monk class. Putting the Monk and classes introduced in Early Access,  there will be 46 subclasses at launch, with nearly half of them being new, across all of the classes.

The team is also introducing new spells, new companions, and more details to look forward to. for example, the script is almost 2 million words in length and on PC,  the game will support 13 languages.

One reveal they didn't make today is the remaining main antagonist out of the three. There is a panel on July 7th due to reveal more content  – the Panel From Hell: Release Showcase.
