Larian Studios dropped its latest Baldur’s Gate 3 community update this week, revealing details on the forthcoming Patch #7.
The headline feature of the patch is the addition of long awaited official mod tools. Players will be able to change visuals, animations, sounds, stats, and more with BG3’s mod tools. However, Larian was careful to note that the next game update will only “begin introducing” these tools, so players might want to curb their enthusiasm a bit as the full functionality isn’t likely to be there in patch 7.
Another interesting aspect of patch 7 is the new content coming for the more maliciously inclined players out there. Evil endings will see improvements with new cinematics, some of which are teased in the community update (beware of spoilers!) and even new music.
Patch 7 will be substantial enough that Larian also announced that the patch would have a closed beta on PC, with more details on that said to be revealed in the “coming weeks.”
Later on, Larian intends to bring cross play and photo mode to Baldur’s Gate 3. Both of which should be welcome additions for fans like myself who like to take lots of screenshots and play with friends across a number of different platforms.
