As previously announced, ATLAS is set to receive new world map for Season 4: The Maelstrom on Friday at 8p PST for PC and Xbox One. Here are the details.
Note that there will be a full data wipe performed on the servers during this time. However, the map itself is described by the accompanying press release to intensify the fun at higher levels and make it a bit safer for lower level Pathfinders.
The team notes that the release of this map is really the first step in a greater plan to shift gameplay from the land out on to the open seas driving more interaction between players, for both competitive and cooperative reasons.
Additionally, the team had previously mentioned that they want to focus on PvP while intending to separate PvE into “something else.” However, no date was provided for when this would occur, or what it would entail from a gameplay perspective.
The team had announced also recently their intention for regular content updates with schemes for Trade Winds, Farms, Warehouses, and more. Finally, ATLAS is currently on sale for the Steam Summer Sale for 67% off, or $9.89.
