Atlas has gotten its first major update of the new year, and it adds the Great Temple Monument, a new ship, and fixes a whole lot of bugs.
The heart of this update is the first Wonder in the game, The Great Temple. Your company will have to sail around doing your pirate best to scheme and and use all the resources at hand to be the one to master the great Wonder and reap the rewards. The company that does this will get buffs that continue into next season so this is a big deal. clearly this structure is going to attract a lot of competition from all the Pirates that want glory, but it will take some work to get there.
Completing the Great Temple Monument will take six levels of progression in order to complete the Wonder. This Wonder can only exist one time per server, and the promised rewards include fortitude buffs to the company that gets there first. In order to build it, you'll have to have built The Monuments Studies Modular room at the Damned Smithy and place it into a Cursed Temple. Once you have the room built, start building and if you are the first to claim it, you'll really enjoy the benefits.
Also in the update is a brand new ship, the Tramp Freighter. This ship is a cargo vessel and it should be a very good option for the early part of your journey. It's a two length ship that has multiple cargo racks on each side making it a perfect first transport vessel.
