It looks like the first big expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, called Wrath of the Druids, has been delayed out of April. The new date is May 13. Not much detail was provided for the delay, but here’s what we know so far.
As a refresher, Wrath of the Druids is the first expansion to hit Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It was originally set to release later this month on April 29. The new expansion is set to take us to Ireland where we’ll face off against Gaelic kings and a druidic cult called the Children of Danu.
However, that now seems to be put on hold. The team took to Twitter to announce the delay.
To deliver a more refined experience, we’re sharing that: ??Wrath of the Druids will now release on May 13??We’re working on an article to provide transparency and share insights on our dev process Thanks for your patience. Admittedly, that Tweet doesn’t provide much information explaining the delay. However, it looks like we might expect a larger article or blog post to explain the reason for the delay. If nothing else, we received another glimpse of what could be Ireland.
We quite liked Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Our review called the game beautiful and vast. We also loved the combat and the lack of grind for gear. The music wasn’t bad either. However, we found the story had a few stumbles, and regions followed a predictable pattern.
Since release, the game has experienced a few crashes and other performance issues brought on by various patches. This caused the team to issue various hotfixes to stabilize the game and lessen the crashing such as the one brought on by the Ostara festival.
