Ubisoft has given us a first look at the latest addition coming to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, as Assasin’s Creed Shadows takes fans to Japan.

Previously, we only knew of this game under a code name, Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red, but today, not only do we get a first look at where exactly we will be traveling for the storyline, but we get introduced to two different main characters. The trailer, while it shows no gameplay, does set up the two protagonists you can play as in Shadows.

Yasuke, based on the historical figure of the same name, is a samurai in the service of the first great unifier of Japan during the Sengoku Jidai, Oda Nobunaga, and he seems to be more of the brute force, combat-heavy character. However, Naoe, a shinobi, represents the stealthy, Assassin character the series is famous for, with the character hailing from the province of Iga, known for their Shinobi.

When we get our first look at the new female character, we can see she is wielding shuriken and what appears to be a Ninjato rather than a Katana, while the male character is wearing heavy traditional armor and welding a heavy spiked mace to take out several enemies at once with brute force.

The release date is set for November 15th but is currently available for pre-order, and though all we have so far is this three-minute trailer, we can expect more details to surface before release.
