The most recent Ashes of Creation stream featured a Treasure Hunt playthrough and a new Q&A that answered some important questions about solo play, monetization, procedural generation, as well as upcoming content and improvements.

Intrepid recently released a new update to Alpha Two and announced that the Rogue archetype is coming to the PTR this month, with “true stealth” mechanics they say compliment the rest of the archetypes well. It remains to see how PVP will be affected.

In Treasure Hunt, they showed off one of the high-stakes activities you can engage in. This uses the treasure map system, and how you will go after secret caches and explore new places, including some  very dangerous places where you'll have to decide if you're up to the challenge.

You're also racing against the clock because you don't have infinite time to complete these challenges. You'll have to assess whether you're ready to take on whatever dangers await, whether you can do it fast enough, and of course you must weigh the loot and how important or helpful it would be to get it. If you take care of the creatures that you encounter and manage to survive any potential PKers who want to run off with everything you've got. Check out the streamed demo to see ways this can play out.

As for some of the questions,  Some of the things we can look forward to include some changes that the team is looking into to improve solo gameplay even as ashes of creation remains at heart, targeted as a group oriented MMORPG. But there could be some minor adjustments they can make to make solo players feel like they're a little more viable without actually just pivoting the core of what they're building.

When it comes to monetization, they promise that there won't be some aggressive pop-ups or in-game ads or  a bunch of banners when you log in. They will handle promos in a few places, like Discord or X, to maintain immersion. On that note, cosmetics are going to fit AoC’s overall aesthetic, so you don't have to worry about neon skins or cars. It’s not Fortnite

As for RMT, issues, they're going to focus on preventing exploits and make sure they keep an eye on potential suspicious transactions and market manipulation efforts, since player to player trading is going to be a feature.

They talked a bit about procedural generation, and how it has been used to help them add to their creation of large-scale environments, faster. After building the Riverlands, they are working to blend the work of their artists, who are refining the outcome from these semi-automated tools.

In the future, they'll continue working on improving the desert, adding more content, points of interest, and additional things to do out there in those sweeping desert environments. After they do this, we make it a tropical type zone but there's nothing to announce just yet.
