Ashes of Creation is extending its current alpha phase, merging servers, and offering a fresh start in May too.
Alpha Two Phase II has been extended through August 4th in order to give the Intrepid Studios more time to work on a list of improvements and new features that they want to have ready for Alpha Two Phase III. Right now, the servers are open 5+ days per week, allowing for development time and responses to the current test. Phase III will open the 24/7 servers on August 4th, with a full character and progression wipe.
Among the stuff they're working on that led to the phase extension are the introduction of a second starting area, The Anvils, and an overhaul of questing and first time user experience systems. There will be an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.5, a number of balance updates to the economy and stats, and server performance improvements. They’re also planning to add three more races–Py’rai, Ren’Kai, and Niküan–and the last Archetype, the Summoner. On top of all of this they plan to add dynamic gridding, which should offer additional performance Improvement in crowded areas.
On May 1st, they will be merging the Lyneth and Vyra servers to test their systems, with multiple systems being reset, but items and progression preserved. They'll also open a fresh start server.
