Intrepid Studios has published Dev Discussion 21 for Ashes of Creation, but this time posing a question for the fans and community.

Generally, these dev discussions are open invitations for the community to ask questions to the dev team. This time, however, the team has turned the cadence around,

“Glorious Ashes community - it's time for another Dev Discussion! Dev Discussion topics are kind of like a "reverse Q&A" - rather than you asking us questions about Ashes of Creation, we want to ask YOU what your thoughts are.”

To that end, the question on hand for the community this week is all about quest breadcrumbs,

“What is your opinion on quest breadcrumbs (target locations highlighted, quest givers with icons above their heads, etc)? How much is too much? How much is too little?”

To that end, the community has responded. Many people do prefer breadcrumbs in their MMOs. Specifically, one commenter remarked on their use in some occasions, but not didn’t want them in other situations,

“Hmm personally, as a newer player to MMO's , knowing where the person is and who it is, helps, however when I start a quest, I don't want help in finding location / person. to continue the quest like after I talk to person a to start quest, I don't want help indications that tell me who player b is or where on a map, I want to find it myself.”

What are your thoughts on quest breadcrumbs?
