Ashes of Creation’s first Alpha Two weekend is in the books, and the team’s latest development stream focused on the launch and the community. They also confirmed the dates for the next waves of access for the alpha phase.
Since it has been a while and a lot of planning, demos, streams, and of course game development, it's no surprise that the Intrepid team was excited to let everyone finally dive in. They also emphasized the importance of community engagement and all the feedback they're getting from the test.
Ashes of Creation lifted the NDA on all content (after initially lifting the verbal NDA), so anyone who was in the game this past weekend was able to stream or talk about their experiences. Given the nature of crowdfunded games and skepticism that often comes along with them, letting everyone stream and share their experiences is one way for anyone who might have been on the fence or might have been curious about how things were coming along, to get a look at the game as it is now.
There is one NDA still in place and that is for the PTR that is separate from the alpha to servers and is for testing with a smaller group before features and updates are released to the larger Alpha Two servers.
The first wave of bundle owners will start getting Alpha Two access on November 8th. Those who purchased the second wave will gain access on December 20th. Those who opted for the third wave bundle will not get access until May 1st, 2025. For those who have access now, there were queues but sometimes as more players got deeper into the action, those numbers started to balance.
One of the conversations the team had on the stream was about upcoming content and features that they plan on adding to the alpha during the full test. among those additions include the Summoner and Rogue classes, more biomes, POIs, and to keep an eye on performance issues and to continue getting feedback to help them address any issues.
Alpha Two weekends will continue, with the alpha later set to expand.
