Recently Ashes of Creation has notified their players that they will no longer offer preorders after the September Pre-Order packs. This left players to speculate what that meant, and whether it signaled that Alpha 2 would start after the September Pre-order. Community Manager Cody Peterson (Vaknar) took to the official forums to address these claims.
Ashes of Creation is one of the most anticipated MMORPGs in development right now. The game has had a long history of crowd-funding via Kickstarter, and selling pre-order packs since 2017. Recently, Intrepid Studios has decided to no longer offer the Pre-order packs, ending potential players’ ability to purchase them in September. Many fans of the game questioned what the removal of the Pre-order packs meant, with many believing that Ashes of Creation’s next Alpha would follow swiftly behind the sunsetting of their Pre-orders.
With nothing quite yet has been set in stone related to Alpha 2, Community Manager Cody Peterson (Vaknar) addressed these very rumors.
“Just to be clear for people reading this - We did not say this. There has been no announcement on Alpha Two dates at this time”
– Vaknar, Ashes of Creation Forums
It’s clear that many players are excited about the prospect of Apha 2, and can’t wait for it to start. Unfortunately, there is still no word on when that might be, and what adds a little insult to injury there, is that, those looking to get into Alpha 2 have fewer chances now that September will be their last chance to buy their way into testing. Currently, the Voyager pack, listed at $250.00 USD is the cheapest pack available to get impatient MMORPG players into the next test. Less expensive packs will provide access to Beta 1 and Beta 2 respectively, though there are no target dates for any testing phase at this time.
