Ashes of Creation’s Alpha One has been delayed out of April with a new start date of June 1. Here are the details.
The original dates were for a preview to run from March 19 through March 26, with the full-blown Alpha One to run from April 6 through May 6. However, in a recent letter to the community, Creative Director Steven Sharif has announced a shift in dates.
He cites a few challenges encountered by the team during February testing. They’ve spent the past several weeks looking at those issues and addressing them accordingly. They concluded that additional polish was needed so that Alpha One would be as smooth as possible.
Therefore, the new dates are as follows:
- Alpha One Preview Spot Testing: March 19 – June 1 (NDA)
- Open to all Bravers and Intrepid Pack Holders
- Alpha One Preview: May 14 – May 21 (No NDA)
- Open to all Alpha One testers and official content creators
- Alpha One: June 1 – June 30 (No NDA)
- Open to all Alpha One testers and official content creators
So in reality, the full Alpha One is still one month long. The dates have simply been shifted. Steven concludes,
“As eager as our team is to open the gateways to Verra for you, we ultimately feel this is the right decision in order to make sure everyone can test the features we’d like to focus on during Alpha One, and the performance is reflective of the insights we have gained through these preview tests.”
