Asgard's Wrath 2, the sequel to developer Sanzaru Games' 2019 virtual reality ARPG, received a brand new trailer today ahead of its December 15th release on the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest Pro VR headsets.
It's been a great year for RPGs all-around and even the VR space wants in on the action. Enter Asgard's Wrath 2, Meta's potential "killler app" for its VR headsets. Set in Ancient Egypt this time around, the game is said to be a 60+ hour open-world RPG that aims to improve on it's already well-received predecessor in a number of ways.
One of those areas of improvement comes in the form of supporting various playstyles. The original game was very prescriptive in how combat encounters played out. In the sequel, players will be able to approach enemies the way they like, whether that's up close and personal, kiting them around, etc.
Another aspect of the game getting a serious upgrade is the companion system. This time around companions have background stories and reasons for the player to work together with these characters and even develop friendships with them over time.
For a limited time, Meta is bundling the recently released Quest 3 headset with copies of Asgard’s Wrath 2.
