In a new article on the Adventure Quest 3D site called "Botters Get Banned", the Artix team goes on record with why botting is bad for the game and that there will essentially be zero-tolerance for the practice. The article states that there will be no difference between a player who has spent no money or a "whale" that has spent $5000. The bottom line is that if someone is caught botting, they will be banned. Period.
We're going to be much tougher on botters in AQ3D than we have been in our previous games.
There are three main reasons for this:
- AQ3D is a very different game and we have different tools to help is track down offenders (No, VPN's don't work and we don't need your IP anyway).
- We have seen first-hand what botters have done to the community in AQW.
- Games like Overwatch have shown us that ZERO TOLERANCE policies for cheating works.
In the past we've spent a lot of time working on botting as an issue. Remember that botting doesn't just hurt the community but every minute that we spend fighting this is a minute that we're NOT working on adding more content for you to play, new things for you to do, new areas to explore and new functionality that will expand the game.
We say good for Artix!
