ARK: Survival Ascended is getting its first all-original expansion pack, ARK: Lost Colony, to explore the past and add lots more to discover and tame.
The announcement came today at GDC from Studio Wildcard, which unveiled a trailer for the expansion pack featuring Michelle Yeoh, who returns as survivor Mei Yin, a role she voiced in ARK: The Animated Series. We follow Mei Yin in the frozen terrain on a quest to uncover secrets of ARK’s past. The expansion will feature new challenges, new types of abilities, all new gear, building systems and lots of exotic new tames.
Lost Colony features cinematic anime story sequences from Japanese studio MAPPA, which has worked on anime series like Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen. A sample of this is seen in the trailer and the story will connect the past and future of ARK through this new adventure set in and around a big occupied city in Arat Prime. The mysterious, long mentioned origin point will take center stage.
The expansion trailer also features Madeleine Madden as Helena Walker, and Auli’i Cravalho as Meeka. The announcement promises that other fan favorite characters will appear for the first time in the game. Those characters and their voice actors will be revealed sometime later.
Pre-orders are set to open in June with all purchases immediately unlocking new preview gameplay content. ARK: Lost Colony has a Steam page where you can wishlist the expansion, which is set to go on sale in November for $29.99 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
