ARK: Survival Ascended has some new fiery DLC, expansion of The Center map (with new creature), and premium mods finally hit PlayStation 5.

Pyromane is the new DLC creature you can get your hands on and the first in a series of special new additions called “ARK Fantastic Tames”. Pyromane lives up to its name and is a pretty fantastic way to kick off this collection of versatile, special creatures. You can add it to your account for $4.99 as DLC and it is a versatile feline that will start as a kitten and serve as a shoulder mounted flamethrower.Throw it and it will become a full sized lion, covered in lames that you can ride.

Not only is it a fiery mount, you can also ignite your enemies as you ride along, survive the lava fields, dash through targets, and you can even use the fire to cook raw meat and even to refuel some forges. Fantastic Tames aren't meant to be subtle.  Studio Wildcard plans to add more later this year.

This isn't the only change in the latest round of updates. The Center expansion map is now cross-platform, as part of the latest free update. Not only can you traverse this especially large new map, with new territories, terrain to conquer, surprises, and of course, creatures to discover and tame, there is one all-new one to look out for. The Shastasaurus will roam this map, and if you’re curious where to find it, it’s an underwater beast that features a saddle with a submarine pouch.

Finally, premium mods have landed on PlayStation 5.  This means the premium mods are available on all platforms. Ranging from $2-$10, Studio Wildcard is splitting revenue 50-50 with mod creators for those obtained via the new system.
