Studio Wildcard has quite a few irons in the fire, and two of them got a little bit of love this Holiday. While the ARK: Survival Evolved developer works on ARK 2, the team pulled the veil back a smidge on its upcoming animated series while also releasing its battle royale prototype on Steam.

First, the Battle Royale mode. ARK: The Survival of the Fittest was originally launched as a beta back in 2016, and now it's available to players on Steam today. The new mode pits 60 players against each other in an epic free-for-all, culminating in an epic battle featuring dinosaur armies. Because you know, ARKARK is currently on sale as part of the Steam Winter Sale, available for $4.99 on Steam.

Via the press release:

"This spin-off of ARK: Survival Evolved pits up to 60 combatants against each other in a fast-paced, action-packed struggle for survival, where players are ultimately pushed into an epic final showdown leading their Dinosaur Armies into battle. ARK: The Survival Of The Fittest, which is now released as a prototype available for players to try out, revives the competitive online survival arena ARK experience on PC (Steam) with a significant number of technical/quality of life/balance changes to make it more approachable for all players. A cross-play console release is planned for 2023."

Fans of the world of ARK can also look forward to the upcoming animated series, which sees quite a few big names join its cast, including Dee Bradley Baker, Gerard Butler, Russel Crowe, Michelle Yeoh, and more. The animated series is set to launch in 2023, though the platform it'll be available on is still to be announced. Its story takes place across "eons of human & world history," and follows the paleontologist Helena Walker (played by Madeleine Madden) as she navigates the world of ARK.

Also, Vin Diesel. Can't forget about Vin Diesel.
