ArcheAge: Unchained opens up its newest Fresh Start server today, with the team noting that this round features a few changes in response to community feedback.
This Fresh Start server is a seasonal event that opens up today, with the all-important Land Rush happening on Saturday, February 11th. For the EU it will open at 1:00 p.m. CET and for North America, it will happen at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. As for the content, all content will be open, excluding Farmhand, so there’s no limit on how you can take on the journey, activities, and rewards that ArcheAge: Unchained has to offer.
When Kakao Games took over the publishing license for the IP, initial Fresh Start had content gates. These were designed to open things up more gradually and to not let other players who weren't as fast or didn't have as much time to have a shot at some of the best options. However, there were almost no gates last time and it is the same this time. If you are more competitively minded or you really want to maximize everything you can, it’s good to start as early as possible.
As for progression boosts, there will be double XP for Conflict, War, Siege, Quest, Honor Points, Vocation Badges and doubled loot drop rates for most of the week. On the weekends, all of the above will offer triple XP and drop rates. There are also equipment synthesis discounts, with discounts ranging from 30% to 100% off. Progression also means a number of events Including rewards and bonuses for hitting certain milestones. There will also be regular events and rewards to keep you going throughout this special limited time server.
On May 4th, after the maintenance, free character transfers will open up to let you transfer your Fresh Start character to a live server. When you do that, there will be rewards waiting for you. These transfers will remain available until June 29th when the server itself is closed and everything gets deleted.
