ArcheAge Begins Reopening Marketplace, Begins Claims and Sieges on Fresh Start Servers

The Kakao Games team has begun making headway into reopening the marketplace for both ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained. Additionally, Fresh Start servers, which had been postponed until further notice, have begun opening up for claims.

The marketplace issue stems from errors during the data transfer process in early December when Kakao took over publishing for the  franchise. A number of errors happened and players were compensated for items that couldn't be transferred to the global build. This compensation happened in  amounts that were far above what they should have been. The team shut down the marketplace last week and have removed the cash bags and extra credits. The marketplace in both games will be open again after maintenance today, and players who logged in between Thursday February 17th and Thursday February 24th will get special compensation. ArcheAge: Unchained players will have a 3-day subscription extension, while ArcheAge players get 3 days of Patron. Honorable Victory Rank 5 and Honorable Vocation Potion Rank 5 will be given to both games’ players.

However, with the reopening of the marketplace this doesn't completely solve the issue. Because the cash bags were removed, some players had not actually spent their credits. Next week they will be introducing a new currency called Rosen Crystals to players that had this happen to them and lost credits. There will be a dedicated shop to spend them too. Complicating the issue, some players received and spent credits that they shouldn't have had and Kakao is considering the possibility of economy balancing measures but is not considering account sanctions.

In good news, the Fresh Start servers - Nehliya, Kyrios, Kyprosa, and Erenor - have opened up territory claims, sieges, and faction alliances. The delays for the Fresh Start servers had gone on for a while, and things recently started looking up when more content and progression was enabled. Now players will have some more freedom to adventure in another direction if they want to.

See the update notes over at ArcheAge.
