Archage Studio, the developer behind the upcoming Indie MMORPG World of Titans, has announced the early closure of the game's demo. Initially scheduled to run until May 1st, the studio decided to end the demo prematurely due to ongoing issues with Unreal Engine 4.26. In a statement, Archage Studio expressed their disappointment and understanding of the community's frustration but explained that the problems were doing the game an injustice.

As they shift their focus to the Unreal Engine 5.1 version, the studio remains optimistic about the game's progress. In the statement, Archage Studio hinted at the numerous changes, additions, and fixes that have been implemented in the latest version. These updates are expected to resonate with MMO players, with improvements to skills, buffs, debuffs, weapon stats, and more. The studio also teased upcoming gameplay reveals, development team interviews, and other exciting announcements.

World of Titans transports players to the mystical world of Valendar, where they assume the role of a protector. This MMORPG aims to combine the best of old school MMOs with ‘innovative’ features, creating a unique experience for players.

World of Titans touts its classless system as one of it’s major defining features, and something they expect the PvE focused game to excel at. Players will have the freedom to wield any weapon and equip any gear they find in-game, tailoring their Titan to their preferred play style using skill points. This open-ended approach is meant to allow for limitless customization and a more personalized gaming experience. Archage Studio will round out this indie title with a game loop centered around, acquiring new skills, crafting better weapons and gear, and surviving the perils of their PvE content such as world bosses, dungeons, and raids.

You may recall from our report in a previous article, Archage Studio has no known connection to TitanReach developer Square Root Studios, however, after Square Root Studios shut down and TitanReach was scrapped, Archage Studio took over the project's social accounts and began promoting their own vision of the game. The new project has since been renamed to World of Titans, distancing itself from the controversial past of TitanReach.

That history includes allegations of fraud, financial mismanagement, and plans to transform the game into a blockchain-based title. Archage Studio originally attempted to trade on some of the good ideas of TitanReach despite not having any of the assets, and has since moved forward firmly dropping everything related to TitanReach and SquareRoot Studios.

Despite the early demo closure, World of Titans is has tried to profess their potential as an open-world MMO, full of adventure, PvE, PvP, raids, dungeons, and more. With the transition to Unreal Engine 5.1 and the various improvements in store, we’re looking forward to further updates from Archage Studio. Will the new Titan-based world soar to new heights, or will it fall short of being a Titan? Only time will tell, but for now, we’re excited to learn more about this ambitious indie MMORPG project.
