Apex Legends Shockwave Update Brings New Maps, Modes, and More

A new update is heading to Apex Legends, as Shockwave is said to bring more mayhem, more revivals, and a new map to explore as we bash our foes to bits.

A new mode, Trios: Revival,.will be added with the Shockwave update. This new mode will let us keep our heads in the game even longer, as we can respawn without banners or beacons as long as one of our squadmates is still alive. This comes with a major caveat though – the more we die, the longer our respawn timer gets, meaning our squadmates better hustle and bustle to keep us in the running while the clock runs down.

The latest map to hit Apex Legends is called E-District, which is made for those who just love being above it all in high places, especially with a sniper. The small-scale map allows for quick and ruthless kills, but with so many stories to each building, some matches may end in a high-stakes game of hide and seek.

The Akimbo weapon has made its way into our hand, or hands, to be exact. Dual wielding either two P2020s or two Mozambiques will automatically trigger Akimbo mode which packs some serious heat. Entering Akimbo mode not only increases our rate of fire but it also gives us automatic firing. More so, any attachments we add to our main weapon will be mirrored on the second one, except for any optics since these aren’t meant for aiming down sites. Rather than aiming to get the perfect headshot, the hip fire spread will tighten instead leading to devastating barrages of bullets.

The Shockwave update comes shortly after a bit of an issue with the updated Battle Pass, which luckily, was rescinded almost immediately after fans had plenty to say about the changes Respawn made.
